The Applications Engineer position will be based out of Client's office in the San Antonio area. The position will require knowledge of a wide variety of flare technologies and end user applications. The position will be responsible for technology design, development of quotes, and technology development. Field experience in startups and troubleshooting are a plus.
The role involves:
Qualifies and evaluates customer inquiries and specifications.
Evaluates technical and commercial considerations. Researches alternate solutions.
Develops cost effective, competitive solution in line with client's capabilities and guidelines. Responsible for equipment sizing and detailed design.
Owns the quotation process: writes, edits, and issues formal quotations to customer. Follows-up and corresponds with customer during quotation phase and after sale.
At times, develops cost estimates.
Work with management and/or sales team to determine proposal pricing and gross margin.
When appropriate, travels to customer's facilities for meetings, evaluations and site support.
Supports sales team as technical subject matter expert.
Coordinates with design group to develop proposal and job drawings.
May coordinate with manufacturing to facilitate production.
Helps develop new flare and combustion technologies and product lines.
Assist with the creation and modification of presentations and documents using Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
Makes sales, technical presentations and publications/articles
Represents company at conferences and expos
Performs other duties as may be assigned that are appropriate based on skills and experience.
Qualifications
B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or related field) or demonstration of equivalent knowledge obtained through a combination of work experience and education

years of flare design experience
Knowledge of industry (oil and gas) and applications (upstream, midstream and downstream.
Knowledge of other industries and markets a plus (e.g. landfill, bio, petroleum, petrochemical or other process equipment/industry experience)
Knowledge of other combustion technologies a plus.
Previous technical applications/sales experience and field experience preferred
Excellent communication and people skills
Ability to handle multiple, complex projects simultaneously
Able to coordinate cross-functional activities within company's organization and with third parties; including consultants, vendors and customers.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
